Synopsis:
The time is 28th August 1939. The action takes place in
a coastal resort somewhere in Britain.
In the last week before World War II, a small concert party, working the end of a pier show, is rehearsing for the final week of the season. There is talk of impending war and uncertainties about the future of the Pier Theatre itself. We meet the various cast members rehearsing their acts and learn something of their personal lives.
